I have recently graduated with an MA in Children's Literature.
I have always loved reading. When I started school my teacher had to introduce a new rule just for me. If I worked hard for the whole lesson I could spend the last five minutes in the book corner. Every time she looked up my seat was empty and I would be in the corner reading, while the rest of the class worked.
I am really lucky because I live near quite a few libraries. There are two within walking distance and several others a short bus ride away. I have taken part in the Summer Reading Challenge since I was a toddler and, now that I am too old to participate, I volunteer to help out every summer.
I am a member of IBBY UK and the Federation of Children's Book Groups which has given me the chance to meet lots of my favourite authors and illustrators.
I love reading all sorts of books aimed at all ages. I think that you are never too old for a picture book and often chose my books by the illustrator when I was little. As you can see from my picture, I am a big fan of Tove Jansson.
